One complaint concerning one of the female ARROGANT students present on the school.

- even if you think that my speech on the final dinner was a kind of ridiculous (and you are COMPLETELY other opinion about the teachers, students and the school itself) there is NO need to show it all around by very vivid melodramatic gestures

I cannot let this topic empty since the school was one of the best I've attended! Thanks (again) to all the lecturers and organizers.

It would be very useful to maintain this forum in order to stay in touch with each other and share our growing experience in writing papers.

I think it's a good idea to have a page dedicated to photos taken during our stay in Blankenberge. All people who have taken photos should be able to upload them on this page and share them with the rest of us if they feel like it.

Dear all,

I'm not sure if anyone will read this but I have a small problem: I forgot to bring the charger of my camera's battery with me. My camera is an Olympus one (FE-280...). If anyone happens to have a suitable charger I would be very grateful if I could use it at some point (soon...I was in Brugge today and my battery is nearly dead!).

Just wanted to let you know that I'm bringing with me the card game "Munchkin". Google it...I just bought it and I want "lab rats" to test it on ! The game can be played with up to 6 people, so whoever likes games is more than welcome to join me ! It is supposed to be great fun. Any of you who have some kind of role playing game (RPG) experience in your lives, I'm sure you're going to appreciate it!

So I'm arriving today and I wanted to see a bit of Blankenberge and also Brugge before the workshop starts...Any suggestions what I could do/see today in the evening and tomorrow? I've heard that Brugge is really nice and is worth a visit and it is also nearby to Blankenberge!

Also, if anyone else is also arriving earlier is more than welcome to join me!

The venue is Hotel Azaert in the city of blankenberge.

The train trip from Brussels-Midi to Blankenberge takes slightly more than an hour (direct train or change in Bruges). You can plan your complete intinerary using the link to the Belgian train timetables (enter Bruxelles-Nat-Airport and Blankenberge in the From and To fields).

Beware: The train to Blankenberge is indicated as "Knokke-Blankenberge" and has a double destination. It splits in Bruges, so you should board the train ...

Strike of public transport

Dear All,

Few of us will be affected, but I wish to inform you that the Belgian railway trade unions announced a national strike on Tuesday 20 May: no trains will run from 8 pm on Monday 19 for a full 24 (and a few more) hours

I will organise emergency transports to Lille and to Brussels airport if needed. I assume the train services will be back to normal from Wednesday morning on.
